Firestone, James H.

James H Firestone, age 75, passed away of heart disease at home on Feb. 13. He was born in Chicago July 8, 1937 , the son of Alice and Kermit Firestone. He is survived by Sandra, his wife of 53 years, his daughter, Kathryn Kuhagen (Eric) and granddaughters, Kallie, Lindsey, and Kenzie of Pleasant Prairie, WI, two sons, Steve (Meg) and grandsons, Andrew and William of Steamboat Springs, CO, and Eric (Beth) of St. Paul, MN. He is also survived by his brother, Michael of Twaine Harte, CA.

He grew up in Wilmette, Ill and attended New Trier High School. He attended SMU in Dallas and earned a degree in metallurgical engineering from the University of Missouri School of Mines in Rolla, MO in 1961.

He spent his entire career employed by Modine Manufacturing Co in Racine, WI retiring as Vice President of Quality and Environment. Following retirement, Jim and Sandy moved to Lake Arrowhead in Nekoosa, WI where they spent 6 months of the year, and built a home in Green Valley, AZ where they spent the remaining 6 months of the year.

During his retirement time in Green Valley, he volunteered for more than 5000 hours at the Pima County Sheriff's Auxiliary .

A celebration of life will be held later in the spring in Green Valley and at Lake Arrowhead in Wisconsin.
