Bernice Theresa Schroedel Obituary
Schroedel, Bernice Theresa

Bernice Theresa Schroedel, 89, of Wisconsin Rapids, passed away on Tuesday, November 28, 2017 at Edgewater Haven Nursing Home.

She was born on July 17, 1928, daughter of the late Ignatz and Anna (Altman) Weinfurter in Sherry, Wisconsin. On August 31, 1946 she married Robert Schroedel at St. Kilian's Catholic Church in Blenker, Wisconsin. He passed away on July 10, 2016.

She was a lifelong homemaker for more than 70 years; caring for her siblings as a young girl and then her own children. Bernice enjoyed gardening, crocheting, sewing, baking and family time that included her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She spent many hours in her kitchen; whether she was canning, making meals or baking goodies for her family. Bernice enjoyed time with Robert, in their retirement, traveling with friends; especially their winter visits to Arizona where they watched many a baseball game at spring training camp.

Bernice is survived by her children; Robert Jr. (Connie) Schroedel, Marlene Schroedel, Marlyce (Jeff) Randall, Rodney Schroedel, Marilyn (Martin) Munce and Mary (Chris) Carlson; son-in-law John Moseler; her grandchildren Ty (Sherry) Moseler, Tris Moseler, Ted Moseler, Carrie Schroedel, Brett (Emily) Schroedel, Jennifer (Meyer) Lehman, Brooke (Brandon) Nontelle, Ross Munce, Nicholas Munce, Bryce (Fiancé Sarah) Carlson, Alexa Carlson and Tanner Carlson; her great-grandchildren Koy, Addy and Josey Moseler; Harper, Cohen, and Evelyn Schroedel; Avery, Emmett and Oren Lehman; and expecting Baby Nontelle. Bernice is further survived by two brothers; Leo (Kathy) Weinfurter, LaVerne (Joan) Weinfurter; two sisters Evelyn Dobbs, Violet (Richard) Zabel and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and special friends.

Bernice was preceded in death by her parents Ignatz and Anna; husband Robert; daughter Marjorie; brothers Carl, Raymond, Sylvester and Hilary; sisters Ida Klawikowski, Rita Kundinger, Mary Cummings, Virgiline See, Helen Capek and infant sister Delores.

Funeral services for Bernice will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, December 1, 2017 at Our Lady Queen of Heaven Catholic Church in Wisconsin Rapids (750 Tenth Ave. S). Fr. Aaron Becker will officiate the service. A time of visitation will be held from 9:00 AM until the time of mass. Entombment will take place at Forest Hill Mausoleum following the service.

Mom, we are so grateful for our time with you. You were a devoted wife and a dedicated mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Your example taught us to always put our family first. To give without expecting anything in return. We will always remember all the wonderful canned and baked goods you made for us. We love you and will miss you more than words can say.

"Motherhood is a choice you make every day to put someone else's happiness and well-being ahead of your own, to teach the hard lessons, to do the right thing even when you're not sure what the right things is."

The Schroedel family would like to extend a special thank you to Edgewater Haven Nursing Home staff for all the tender loving care and compassion they provided. The respect and dignity that was given to Bernice was truly remarkable.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial will be established in Bernice's name at a later date.
