Frederick "Fred" Siegel, age 91, of Wisconsin Rapids, WI died Thursday, September 21, 2017 at Our House Assisted Living in Wisconsin Rapids, WI.

Funeral Services are 11:00 AM Monday, September 25, 2017 at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, Wisconsin Rapids, WI. Father Patric will officiate. Visitation will be at St. Vincent de Paul Church on Monday from 9:00-11:00 AM. Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery with military rites provided by American Legion Post #485 of Rudolph, WI. Ritchay Funeral Home in Wisconsin Rapids, WI is assisting the family.

Fred was born February 14, 1926 in Evanston, IL to Frederick and Mary (Steiner) Siegel Sr. He married Ramona Golla on July 14, 1951 at St. Peter's Church in Stevens Point, WI. She preceded him in death on December 13, 2016. Fred was employed at the Biron Division of Consolidated Papers Inc. for 42 years retiring in February 1988.

Fred served in the U.S. Navy during World War II from February 10, 1944 until November 27, 1946, serving in the Asiatic Pacific on the U.S.S. New Jersey. He served on the Biron Credit Union Board of Directors and was a member of the American Legion Post #485 of Rudolph, WI. Early in retirement, Fred enjoyed morning coffee with friends and daily walks to get his USA Today newspaper. The birds looked forward to daily feeding and you often found him sitting in the garage watching life around him. Family was always important to Dad especially the lives of his grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Fred is survived by three children, Ron (Lana) Siegel of Wisconsin Rapids, WI, Jane (Norm) Olsen of Wisconsin Rapids, WI and Tim (Betsy) Siegel of Wilson, WI; 7 grandchildren, Shane (Andrea), Sarah (Dennis), Erin (Chad) Kurt, Scott, Andrew (Katherine) and Steven and 4 great grandchildren, Aidan, Addison, Gwen and Dex.

Fred was preceded in death by his wife, Ramona; daughter-in-law, Lana; brother, Mick and sisters, Fran and Alice.

The family would like to thank the staff of Our House Assisted Living for the loving care given to Fred the past three years.

Memorials may be designated to St. Vincent de Paul Church or to American Legion Post #485 of Rudolph.
