Glen J. Siferd

Middleton - Glen J. Siferd, age 90, of Middleton, WI, passed away peacefully on January 11, 2018, at Attic Angel in Middleton, WI. He was born on August 22, 1927, in Logansport, IN, to Glen O. and Beulah A. (Bowen) Siferd.

After graduating from Logansport High School in 1945, Glen studied philosophy at Indiana University after a short time in the Navy. He later attended Northwestern University and Garrett-Evangelical Theological Seminary, where he earned a Masters of Divinity. He was ordained as a minister in the United Methodist Church and went on to serve congregations in Illinois, Indiana, and Wisconsin before retiring in 1988.

Glen married Shirley Drompp on June 12, 1948, in Bloomington, IN. He lived a long, rich, and feisty life. He enjoyed playing tennis, reading, genealogical research, travel, and volunteering with the NOMADS, a group of retired United Methodists. Throughout his life, he loved performing and listening to music. He enjoyed good food and fellowship with family and friends and was notorious for teasing and terrible jokes.

Glen is survived by his wife, Shirley, of 69 years, along with children, Linda (Jeff) Huttenburg of Middleton, WI, and Glen E. "Rick" (Marie) Siferd of Monona, WI. He is also survived by five grandchildren, Eric (Emily) Huttenburg of Madison, WI, Brian Huttenburg of Oakland, CA, Abbie Huttenburg of Minneapolis, MN, Anna Siferd of Madison, WI, and Heidi (Gian) Compuesto of Verona, WI; three great-grandchildren, Thias, Seiler, and Peter; his brother, John Siferd of Wabash, IN; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.
