Henry was born on May 23, 1936 in Wisconsin Rapids, Wisconsin to Paul Sr. and Helen (Eron) Flaig. Henry grew up in Rudolph, Wisconsin. He graduated from St. Philip Catholic Grade School and Rudolph High School. He married Germaine Zielinski on June 22, 1957 at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Lanark, Wisconsin. They would have been married 60 years in June 2017.

The first eight years of his working career were at Milwaukee Die Casting in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Henry and Germaine then moved back to Wisconsin Rapids where he worked at the Nekoosa Paper Mill. Later he was self-employed and owner of Wisconsin Van Lines where he retired. He enjoyed bowling, golf, playing cards and he loved to dance to polka music.

Henry is survived by his 3 beautiful daughters Linda Flaig Johnson, Lisa Flaig (Special friend Dave Flugaur) and LuAnne (Mark) Birkhauser; 7 grandchildren Jessica (Josh) Russell, Jennifer (Mike) Gillis, Vance Grube, Vaughn Grube, Brad Birkhauser, Brittney Birkhauser and Brandon Birkhauser; 5 great-grandchildren Kaitlyn, twins Henry and Noah Russell and Alec and Aria Gillis who always brought a smile to his face. They are all the love of his life and he enjoyed them to the fullest. He was a Wisconsin Rapids Raider and Assumption Royal fan. He enjoyed watching his grandchildren play football, basketball, baseball, softball, volleyball, cheerlead, wrestle and run track. He was very proud of his daughters, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He will be deeply missed.

He is further survived by his two sisters Dorothy (Vince) Polum, Lillian Cisewski and sister-in-law Betty Flaig. Henry was preceded in death by his parents, brother Paul Jr., and brother-in-law Jerome Cisewski.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial in Henry's name will be established at a later date.

God has come to take you away,

The last breaths so peaceful as we prayed.

You were so great as our strength and our rock,

Our love for you will never stop.

We will miss you more than words can say,

We were blessed to have you each and every day.

As the Angels take you to the heavens above,

Your memories remain here with all of our love.

The hurt we feel cuts like a knife,

But we're so grateful you gave us a beautiful life.

So as you watch over us all throughout the years,

We will look for that sign that you are very near.

We will see you again so it's not our last goodbye,

We love knowing you will continue to walk by our side.

We all love you!
