Jean E. Case

Wisconsin Rapids - Jean E. Case, age 85, of Wisconsin Rapids, Wisconsin, passed away on Saturday, January 2, 2021 at Aspirus Riverview Hospital in Wisconsin Rapids.

Per Jean's wishes there will be no services scheduled at this time.

Jean was born on June 23, 1935 in the Town of Cranmoor, Wisconsin to the late Lamont and Mildred (Wirtz) Smith Sr. She graduated from Lincoln High School in 1953 and would then marry James P. Case on August 4, 1956 at St. Lawrence Catholic Church in Wisconsin Rapids. Prior to her marriage to James, she worked at Sis and Buzz's Bar and for Pre-Way.

Jean enjoyed maintaining her yard, mowing and tending to her flower garden. She also liked collecting antiques and watching the Packers, Brewers and Cubs.

Jean is survived by her four children Kim (Patrick) Pechinski, Michael (Mary) Case, Kathy (John) Zimmerman and Kris Case; grandchildren Shanna (Brian) Richardson, Megan (Casey) Kipfer, Betsy (Justin) Borski, Tanner Case, Ellah Zimmerman, Matthew Hayek and Casey Hayek; great-grandchildren Braiden Richardson, Jaron Richardson, LJ Schmutzer, Chloe Borski, Clara Borski, Mae Kipfer and Nelle Kipfer. She is further survived by her brother Lamont (Sue) Smith Jr. and sister-in-law Nancy Jean Case.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband James, infant brother Nicholas Smith, sister-in-law Janet Dudney and nephew Billy Dudney.

Jean's family would like to thank the staffs of Wausau Aspirus Hospital and Aspirus Riverview Hospital for the kind and compassionate care given to her.

Ritchay Funeral Home in Wisconsin Rapids is assisting the family with arrangements.

Sorry to hear about your mother's passing. Kim, Mike, Kathy and Kris - you're all in my prayers. I have many fond childhood memories of the Case family growing up.

I was a regular fixture at the Case's house from the late 60's into the early 80's. Jean was always welcoming and treated me just like one of her kids. My sympathies to all of the Case family. Godspeed Jean.
