Jeanette was born September 19, 1932 in Marshfield to Irvin and Helen (Johnson) Bauer. She graduated from Auburndale High School in 1950. Her pep and school spirit came neither canned nor condensed, it came natural. She married Floyd A. Hohenstein at St. John's Lutheran Church in Auburndale on June 20, 1953. He died February 2, 2010. They moved to Nekoosa and Jeanette worked at the office of Nekoosa Edwards Paper Company. When the children arrived Jeanette became a full time housewife and mother. She was a faithful member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Nekoosa. Jeanette taught Sunday school for many years. She made quilts and served for funeral luncheons. She was also a volunteer at Bethesda.

She and Floyd enjoyed their summer home in Minocqua for many years and which was also enjoyed by their children and grandchildren.

She is survived by her two children, her son William (Toni) Hohenstein of Corcoran, MN and their family Kaitlyn Hohenstein and Jonathan Hohenstein, and her daughter, Lori (John) Kukulka of Nekoosa and their family, Joshua Duchow, Jenna Duchow, Elizabeth (Lucas) Sommerfeldt, and Austin, Colton and Joey Kukulka; her sister, Beverly DeBoer and her brothers, John (Wanda) Bauer and Thomas (Grace) Bauer and many special nieces and nephews. She is further survived by special friends, her friends from Bethlehem Mission Ladies and the senior group OWLS from church.

Jeanette was preceded in death by her husband Floyd and their son David Hohenstein, her parents, Irvin and Helen Bauer, her in-laws, Arthur and Marie Hohenstein and her brother in-law, Dale DeBoer.

Jeanette's family would like to thank Ministry Home Care Hospice and the many special friends for the unending support and love given to her, over the past few years.
