Ken was a sergeant during WWII, serving 39 months as a radar technician. After the service, he worked 32 years for the Nekoosa-Edwards Paper Company, retiring as manager of advertising and sales promotion. He was a lifetime runner, completing two marathons, many Pittsville Heart and Sole races, and local racing events. He credits his long life to "God and jogging." Kendall enjoyed fishing, drum and bugle corps, playing cards, and attending children's & grandchildren's sporting and music events. Bible study and exercise were daily routines. His favorite Sousa march or Dukes of Dixieland jazz often accompanied Saturday chores. He was an avid reader, and enjoyed writing journals and family letters.
