Leon "Butch" Resheske, age 74, of Nekoosa, died Wednesday, September 27, 2017, at Strawberry Lane Medical and Rehabilitation Center in Wisconsin Rapids.

Butch was born February 5, 1943, in Wisconsin Rapids to Leo and Florence (Wintlyn) Resheske. He married Dorothy Hutchinson on August 14, 1965, in Nekoosa. Butch owned and operated Resheske Service Center and Sporting Goods in Nekoosa for many years. He also was a bus driver for Safeway Bus Transit. Butch was the JV Softball Coach for Nekoosa High School (1986-1992). He was also a car salesman at DeChant Buick and a salesman for Rebob's Trailer Sales.

Butch coached youth softball and basketball in Nekoosa for many years. He took great pride in the kids he helped over the years. His interests included hunting, fishing and watching sports.

He is survived by his wife Dorothy Resheske of Nekoosa; four children Carrie Resheske of Eau Claire, Neil (Erin) Resheske of Hartford, Kurt (Shannon) Resheske of Nekoosa and Kyle (Holly) Resheske of Nekoosa; eight grandchildren Darin, Riley, Reese, Regan, Colin, Piper, Evan and Eli; two brothers William (Barb) Resheske of Iron River and Patrick (Judy) Resheske of Nekoosa and two sisters Sandra (Dennis) Breed of Abrams and Pam (Brian) Ludolph of Prairie du Sac and his faithful companion, his dog, Abby.

Butch was preceded in death by his parents and by his granddaughter Gina.

The family would like to express a specials thanks to Aspirus Comfort Care and Strawberry Lane Medical and Rehabilitation Center their special care and support during this difficult time.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM Thursday October 5, 2017 at the Nekoosa United Church of Christ. Rev. Timothy Miller will officiate. The family will greet relatives and friends at church on Thursday from 9:30 AM until the time of service at 11:00 AM. Memorials may be designated to the Nekoosa Youth Girl's Softball program or Nekoosa High School girls softball. Feldner/Ritchay Funeral Home is assisting the family.
