Lillian was born December 8, 1939 in Arpin to John and Monica (Mayer) Carlson. She graduated from Wood County Normal with a teaching degree and taught in the one-room schoolhouse at Bergen School in Dancy, WI. She married Roman Bredl on May 28, 1960 in Arpin. Lillian served on town of Port Edwards election board and was a member of the Nekoosa Homemakerettes. In earlier years, she was a Wittenberg Workers 4H leader, Girl Scout leader, belonged to a bowling team and was a CCD teacher. She loved gardening, canning, and freezing. Lillian enjoyed sewing, crocheting, baking, cake decorating, and cooking for her entire family. She handwrote all of her treasured recipes and compiled a recipe book for all her children and grandchildren.

She enjoyed getting her family together for campfires and holidays with a whole buffet of food. She was the oldest of 16, kept the tradition of making cropacauker for the family Christmas party. Lillian/Mom/Grandma will be dearly missed. She will be with us in all that we do…keeping that ever watchful eye over us and guiding us from heaven above. She always put others before herself and had an endless devotion and love for her husband, children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

She is survived by her husband of 57 years Roman Bredl of Nekoosa; her children, Steven (Amme) Bredl of Nekoosa, Sandra (Jeff) Hoene of Muscoda, Wanda (Chris) Stensberg of Nekoosa, and Brenda (Vince) Hudak of Wisconsin Rapids; her grandchildren, Brittney (Ron Schauer) Bredl, Stephaney Bredl, Courtney (fiancé Thomas Rodriguez) Bredl, Tereasa (Donnie Gruber) Hoene, Heather (TJ Draeger) Hoene, Leah (Cody) Zenisek, Brock (fiancé Danielle Schneider) Hudak, and Devon Hudak; her great grandchildren, Canon Schauer, Beau Schauer, Casen Zenisek, Breleigh Draeger, and Kalan Gruber; Lillian's siblings, John (Judy) Carlson, Jim Carlson, Ed (Lois) Carlson, Ron (Kathie) Carlson, Shirley (Bill) Tobin, Kathleen (Mike) Feirer, Bob (Rosie) Carlson, Dave (Sue) Carlson, Gary (Katherine) Carlson, Caroline (Ken) Wunrow, Bonnie (Lyle) Ress, Jenny (Pat) Halpin, Tammy (Ron Rizzi) Arnold and Scott Carlson; and 2 sisters in-law, Jeanette (Dale) Irwin and Mary Ann (Leonard) Klappa. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her parents, John and Monica Carlson, father and mother in-law, George and Theresa Bredl, sister, Bertha Carlson, grandson, Mitch Hoene; and one sister in-law, Georgianna Sands.

We would like to thank the Nekoosa Ambulance, the Nekoosa Police Department, and the Wood County Sheriff Department for their services.
