Wisconsin Rapids - Margaret I. Grode, age 95, of Wisconsin Rapids, passed away on Saturday, December 26, 2020, in her home under the care of family and Aspirus Comfort Care and Hospice Service.
Margaret (Marge) was born on November 6, 1925 in Wisconsin Rapids to Ernest and Minnie (Martinson) Neinfeldt. She married Carl Buelow on June 24, 1950 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Wisconsin Rapids. He preceded her in death in 1970. She married Robert (Bob) Grode on November 2, 1973. He proceeded her in death on August 11, 2002.
Marge graduated from Lincoln HS in 1943. She was employed at PreWay, Badger Dry Cleaning, Normingtons, and 3M in Nekoosa for 17 years, as a trimmer operator. She was a member of the VFW Drill Team, the Eagles Club, VFW, and loved to bowl, travel in their motor home, fish, keep the soup warm at deer camp, listen to polka music, and have fun. She was so proud of the home that she and Carl had built and that she had lived in with Bob for 29 years. It was her wish to remain at home as long as she could and where she died peacefully listening to Polka music.
She is survived by one son, Byron (Charmaine) Buelow of La Crosse, WI; 3 grandchildren: Jessica (Randy) LeMoine of Marshfield, WI, Kristen (Lt.Col Jerad) Warren of Fairfax Station, VA, and Lt. Col. Joel (Dana) Buelow of Niceville, FL; and 10 great grandchildren: Wyatt, Luke and Devyn LeMoine, Lola, Dane, Harper and Shae Warren, and Brynn, Sawyer and Kimber Buelow. She is further survived by stepdaughter, Pam Foster (the adoptive caretaker of her precious little dog "Lucky"), Nancy (Robert) Stone, Sandy Grode, and Phillip Grode; and two sisters-in-law: Laura Neinfeldt and Diantha Neinfeldt. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Carl; her husband Bob; 7 brothers: Ernest, Clarence, Charley, George, Art, Raymond and Donald; three sisters: Dorothy, Lucille, and Bernice; and stepson Dade Grode.
Marge's family is planning a Celebration of Life at a later date. They would like to thank the Aspirus Healthcare system, hospital, clinic, home health care, home equipment, home delivered meals and comfort care and hospice for their continued care.
