Matthew Carcy Obituary
Carcy, Matthew

Matthew Anthony Carcy, age 39, of Nekoosa passed away Sunday June 25, 2017 at UW Hospital in Madison after a ten week battle with Advanced Stage Mediastinal Gonadal Germ Cell Cancer.

A memorial visitation will be held on Thursday August 3, 3017 from 1:00 PM until 3:00 PM at Feldner/Ritchay Funeral Home in Nekoosa. Online condolences may be expressed at ritchayfuneralhome.com.

Matt was born April 26, 1978 in Stevens Point. He lived in Stevens Point until 2013 when he moved to Nekoosa where he started the next chapter of his life. He loved traveling for his job where he got to see much of the country. He took many pictures of nature and his very- loved ferrets. Matt planted beautiful flowers in the yard. He liked grilling and trying new recipes. Matt enjoyed music, video games and watching TV. His most genuine smiles were reserved for his ferret Kiki, who he referred to as his son. He loved butterflies and helping turtles cross the road.

He is survived by his soulmate and love of his life Tammy Brunette of Nekoosa; his daughter April of Stevens Point; his mother Mary Carcy of Stevens Point; brothers Kyle and Michael Carcy and his sister Michele Carcy all of Stevens Point and by his niece Alexis Wille. Also surviving Matt is his cherished and completely spoiled ferret, Kiki.

He was preceded in death by his uncle Jim Short of Austin TX; paternal grandparents Lawrence and Barbara Carcy of Stevens Point and maternal grandparents Anthony and Sarah Short of Texas. Also preceding Matt in death were his ferrets, Stiney, Fry and Song.

Matthew's family and friends would like to thank Zhubin Gahvari MD and the staff of UW Hospital for the care given to Matthew
