Norma M. (Uher) Bymers, age 97, of Marshfield, passed away Tuesday, November 21, 2017 at her home. Funeral services will be held 11:00 am Monday, November 27, 2017 at the Wesley United Methodist Church, Marshfield. Rev. Lourdes Magalhaes will officiate. Visitation will be held from 4:00 pm - 8:00 pm Sunday, November 26, 2017 the Hansen-Schilling Funeral Home, 1010 East Veterans Parkway, Marshfield and again from 10:00 am until the time of the service on Monday at the church. Burial will follow the services at Brooklawn Memory Gardens, Marshfield.

Norma was born December 13, 1919 to Edmund and Florence (Lawton) Uher in Milladore. Norma received her education from Wood County AG Normal, graduating salutatorian of her class. She attended the Central State Teachers College in Stevens Point graduating in 1943. Norma began teaching in one room schools, Stepping Stone in Milladore and Webster School, south of Marshfield.

She married Norman Bymers on June 8, 1946 in Milladore and enjoyed 68 years together until his death in 2014. Norma joined Norman on their dairy farm south of Marshfield. She also worked in the Title I program for the Marshfield School District for over 20 years.

Norma was a self-taught musician, playing the piano, guitar and accordion. Norma sang for WFHR radio. In 1951 she was instrumental in beginning the Webster 4-H club and continued to serve as a leader for 63 years. She enjoyed gardening, growing beautiful flower gardens, traveling, walking in the woods looking for wildflowers and listening to the birds sing. She loved to attend the Central WI State Fair. Norma missed only one fair in 70 years.

Her cookie jar was always full and waiting for her grandchildren to stop in to visit. She had a smile and kind word for everyone she met.

Norma is survived by her children: Gene (Laura Westenkirchner) Bymers, Romelle Bymers, and Gary (Nancy) Bymers; her grandchildren: Laura (Steven) Strigel, Tina (Kurt) Seeger, Brian Bymers, Jodie (Dale) Budtke, Eric (Kaitlyn) Bymers, Becky (Dusty) Follen, and Kelly (fiancé; Jon Geiger) Bymers; her great grandchildren: Samantha, Amanda, Tyler Budtke, Hadlee Bymers and Breckin Follen; her step-grandchildren: Sean and Shane Seeger and a sister-in-law; Rose Uher.

Norma was preceded in death by her parents, sister; Marguerite Dorshorst and two brothers; Art (Jessie) Uher and Melvin Uher.

The Bymers family would like to extend a special thanks to the staff at Ministry Home Care and Hospice Care and to special friends who provided their loving care. A memorial will be established in Norma's name to Webster 4-H.
