Skuggen, Oma F.

Oma F. Skuggen age 78, of Nekoosa, died Tuesday, May 30, 2017 at Hospice House in Wausau.

A memorial visitation will be held on Saturday June 3, 2017 from 9:30 until 11:00 AM at Feldner/Ritchay Funeral Home in Nekoosa with a graveside service to follow at 11 AM at Riverside Cemetery in Nekoosa. Online condolences may be expressed at ritchayfuneralhome.com.

Oma was born February 21, 1939 n Olustee, OK to George and Lorene (Willeford) Simmons. She married Donald Skuggen on July 29, 1955 in Olustee, OK. He died November 29, 1996. Oma lived in Seattle, WA and L'Anse, MI before settling down in Nekoosa to raise her family. She was employed as a hostess at the Mead Inn for 37 years and was an executive board member for HERE Local 315 for many years. Oma was a talented seamstress who enjoyed painting, gardening and cooking. Oma liked going to the casino, watching the Green Bay Packers, and was an avid Oak Ridge Boys fan. She enjoyed time spent by Lake Superior and boating with family.

She is survived by her children, Pamela (Jeff) Enerson of Nekoosa, Joseph Skuggen of Nekoosa and Nichole (Darrell) Krueger of Shawano; 4 grandchildren, Matthew Pings, David Enerson, Eric (Sara) Enerson and Connor Krueger; 3 great-grandchildren, Hana Jinsky, Kelsey and Nora Enerson; and her sisters, Betty (Ron) Luekenga of Colony OK and Beverly (Barrie) Toburen of Westmoreland, KS.

She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, daughter, Donna Pings, sister, Georgia Dean Simmons and infant twin granddaughters, Serra and Suzanna Enerson.

The family would like to thank the staff of Hospice House in Wausau and of Aspirus Comfort Care Hospice for their kindness and compassion.
