Richard A. "Dick" Hotchkiss
Plainfield - Richard A. "Dick" Hotchkiss, age 85, of Plainfield, passed away Friday afternoon, March 9, 2018 at St. Claire Hospital in Weston.
He was born September 3, 1932 in Bancroft, the son of Allen and Edith (Pratt) Hotchkiss. Dick was raised by his grandmother. Mr. Hotchkiss married Donna C. Turner on October 31, 1951 in Plainfield.
Dick graduated from Tri-County High School in 1951. After graduation he served his country in the United States Army. Upon completion of his services in the military Dick served his community as a law enforcement officer for the Village of Plainfield and Waushara County Sheriff's Department retiring in 1995 after 30 years in law enforcement. Dick was an avid sports fan who enjoyed watching the Green Bay Packers, Wisconsin Badgers, golf and baseball. He was a lifetime member of the Plainfield/Waushara VFW Post 6007.
Dick will be fondly remembered for his affectionate smile, his contagious laugh and his continuous harassment to those he loved.
He is survived by his wife, Donna C. Hotchkiss, Plainfield; two sons, Richard (Mary) Hotchkiss, Wisconsin Rapids and Todd (Kathy) Hotchkiss, Albuquerque, NM; four grandchildren, Bradley Hotchkiss, Andrea Mora, Ayumi King and Kiyomi Araki-Beaucage and eight great grandchildren; further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and many special friends.
Dick was preceded in death by his parents, three sisters, Shirley, Pat and Marietta and one brother, Roger.
Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, March 14, 2018 at 12 noon in the Stahl Funeral Home with full military honors to follow. Family and friends may call from 9:00 a.m. Wednesday until the time of services at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers memorials in Richard's name are appreciated.
