Richard Rowe, age 72, of Nekoosa died Friday March 9, 2018 at the William S. Middleton Memorial Veterans Administration Hospital in Madison.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Friday March 16, 2018 at Feldner/Ritchay Funeral Home in Nekoosa. Rev. John Swing will officiate. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery. Visitation will be held Thursday from 4:00 until 7:00 PM and Friday from 10:00 until 11:00 AM, both at the funeral Home. The family requests that no cut flower arrangements be sent due to allergies.

Richard was born April 7, 1945 in Wisconsin Rapids to Donald and Esther (Bohn) Rowe. He served in the US Navy for four years during the Viet Nam War. On May 6, 1967 he married Linda Robatcek in North Carolina. Richard was employed by Nekoosa Papers (Domtar) for 42 years as a Millwright, retiring in July 2005 as Millwright Supervisor.

Richard enjoyed family trips and camping. His interests included hunting, fishing and woodworking. He was highly honored to go on the Honor Flight to Washington DC. He especially loved time spent with his granddaughter.

Richard is survived by his wife Linda; son Patrick (Patricia) Rowe of Nekoosa; granddaughter Montana Rowe; two sisters Karla (Bobby) Barnes of Texas and Eilene Robatcek of Wisconsin Rapids and by his brother Robert (Rita) Rowe of Nekoosa.

Richard was preceded in death by his parents and his brother David Rowe.

The Rowe family would like to thank the staff on the 4th floor and the Hospice Unit of the William S. Middleton Memorial Veterans Hospital for their kindness and great care given to Richard.
