Robert "Bob" Lindaas Obituary
Lindaas, Robert "Bob"

Robert "Bob" S Lindaas, age 74, passed away unexpectedly at his cabin early Sunday morning, 11/26/2017, after enjoying a blessed Thanksgiving weekend with family and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Thursday, November 30, 2017 at Our Lady Queen of Heaven Catholic Church (St. Mary's), Wisconsin Rapids, WI. Father Valentine Joseph will officiate the service. Visitation will be at Our Lady Queen of Heaven Church on Thursday morning from 9:00-11:00 AM. Burial will be held at a later date. Ritchay Funeral Home in Wisconsin Rapids, WI is assisting the family.

Bob was born in Janesville, WI to Chester and Rose Lindaas, on July 7, 1943. He grew up in a family of eight where laughter and antics were a way of life. In 1965, he was drafted and entered the Vietnam War where he served in the Army for 2 years, was wounded, and earned the esteemed Purple Heart. He then married Linda and started a family. He, Linda and Julia, their daughter, moved to Menomonee, WI in 1974 where Bob attended University Wisconsin - Stout and earned his Master's degree. In 1976, he and his family moved to Wisconsin Rapids, WI where he spent his career teaching and in administration at Mid-State Technical College. In 2004, he retired after 28 productive years. Ever the avid outdoorsman, he began the next phase of his life, building his cabin, enjoying countless hours in the great outdoors and woodworking in his woodshop with his loyal pal "Ace" at his side. When the weather turned cold, he and Linda wintered in Florida and Arizona, where they enjoyed time with friends and family. No matter where Bob was he always had his fishing poles on hand, ready for a new adventure.

Bob is survived by his wife, Linda, daughter Julia (Lindaas) Johnson and sisters, Kathleen Lindaas, Eileen (Lindaas) Dober, and Pauline Lindaas, along with nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents Chester and Rose (Fanning) Lindaas, sister Helen Lindaas, brother Kenneth Lindaas, sister Colleen (Lindaas) Marsh, and brother William Lindaas.

To all who knew him, Bob was of generous heart and quick wit. He wanted everyone around him to be happy and content. As he enters his eternal life, he will have his fishing poles in one hand and a glass of red wine - with ice - in the other, ready for the big catch. He will be greatly missed.
