Waite, Roylance

Roylance L. Waite, age 89, of Nekoosa, died peacefully Friday September 1, 2017 surrounded by family at Edgewater Haven Nursing Home in Port Edwards.



Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday September 9, 2017 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Nekoosa. Rev. John Swing will officiate. Visitation will be held Saturday at church from 9:30 AM until the time of service. Burial will be at Riverside Cemetery in Nekoosa with military rites provided by Nekoosa VFW Post #5960. Roylance was born April 26, 1928 in Oshkosh to Sumner and Olene (Peterson) Waite. He married Josephine Schrauth on September 26, 1953 in Medford. Roylance served in the US Navy and also in the US Naval Reserves.



Roylance was employed as a pipefitter for Consolidated Papers at the Biron Division for over 30 years. He was a Union Steward for Local #807. Roylance was a member of Knights of Columbus. His interests included hunting, fishing and playing pool. In earlier years he enjoyed playing basketball and baseball. Roylance was always known as the man with five sisters and five daughters who enjoyed spending time with his family.



He is survived by his loving wife of 64 years Josephine Waite of Nekoosa; five daughters Nancy (Robert) Heindl of Cheyenne, WY, Teresa (Jay) Libby of Stillwater, MN, Melinda (Bobby) Long of Arnold, MD, Monica (Jaysen) Yoder of Jefferson and Jennifer (Roger) Anderson of Marshfield; 15 grandchildren Benjamin, Matthew & Sarah Heindl, Brian (Heidi), Royce (Whitney) & Tucker (Carly) Libby, Kellie & Tommy Long, Eric (Nicole) & Megan Malone & Katie(Wyatt) Phillips), Denver, Trenton, Brody and Garrett Anderson; and by four great grandchildren Konnor, Kayden , Mya & Charlette.



Roylance was preceded in death by his parents and five sisters June, Joyce, Virginia, Lois and Muriel.
