Suzanne Marie (Hoyle) Clark, 63, of Port Edwards, passed away on Monday, May 8, 2017 surrounded by her loving family at home. Suzanne had been diagnosed with lung cancer in August of 2016.

A Memorial Service will be held at Port Edwards United Methodist Church at 11:00 AM Saturday, May 13, 2017. Pastor Dave Guse will officiate. Visitation with the family will be held on Saturday from 9:30 AM until time of services at the Church. A luncheon will follow the service.

Suzanne was born February 13, 1954 in Panama City, Florida, to Dan and Joan (Prevost) Hoyle. Her mother remarried Capt. Leon Reuben Fortune and Suzanne grew up in a blended family that included her sister Lisa, step brother, David and 3 step sisters, Sharon, Diane and Donna. Through her step father's employment with the U.S. State Department, Suzanne traveled the world, living in Afghanistan and Nigeria and attending high school in Zaragoza, Spain. It was in Zaragoza in 1970 that she met her husband to be.

Suzanne married William (Joe) Clark on December 20, 1973, in Panama City, Florida. They both graduated from Gulf Coast Community College in Panama City, moving to Tampa, Florida and eventually settling in Wisconsin in 1979. Suzanne worked for Sentry Insurance in Stevens Point before becoming a stay at home mom and raising 3 children over the next 18 years. She attended UWSP, working on a business degree, before accepting a job as a Library Aide with the Wisconsin Rapids Public Schools, where she worked at numerous elementary schools and Lincoln High School for 15 years, retiring in 2013. Suzanne loved working with children and helping them learn to love books.

She is survived by her husband William (Joe) Clark, her mother Joan Prevost Fortune, her children Cameron (Nicole) Clark, Katherine (Richard) Adams and Joanne (Adam) Raabe, grandchildren Charlie Clark, Abigale Adams and Ayla Adams her step brother David Fortune and step sisters Sharon Francis and Donna Young, nephew, Jeremy Proctor, nieces, Jamie Proctor, Merideth Bleadsdale, Shana Prince, Bethany Stokes, Alison Lyon, Emily Young-Sweeny and Sarah Hinkel-Young.

She was preceded in death by her father Dan Edwin Hoyle, step father Leon Reuben Fortune, Sister Lisa Harrison, step sister Diane Bramstedt and nephew Michael Francis.

Suzanne was always fond of quilting, reading, spending time with family, especially her grandkids, traveling and riding the local bike trails with Joe. Hers was a life well lived, full of caring and kindness for others.

In lieu of flowers, her family requests that donations be made to the United Methodist Church of Port Edwards, nursery and Sunday school funds.
