The family will greet relatives and friends on Tuesday morning at the church from 9:30 AM - 11:00 AM. Rev. Tim Miller will officiate the service. Virgil was born on February 12, 1930 in Nekoosa to the late Carl and Jessie (Francis) Holz. He married Loretta Jane Droste on April 28, 1951 at the Rev. O'Neil Home in Wisconsin Rapids. Virgil served his country in the U.S. Army and was active from 1948-1949. He worked for the Nekoosa/Port Edwards Paper Mill for 37 years, retiring on December 1, 1985.

Virgil and Loretta owned a campground for 13 years from 1983-1996 (Holz's Island View Campground), in Cable Wisconsin. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, water skiing, and riding horses. Virgil was an adventurous man from a young age, enlisting in the Army, riding horses in the rodeo, hunting a variety of game as well as playing guitar and singing classic Country tunes with friends.
