Roger H. Croteau Obituary
UXBRIDGE - Roger H. Croteau, 68, of Uxbridge, died Thursday at home. He was the loving husband of Janice L. (Cardarelli) Croteau. He was also the former husband and friend of Margaret (McNamara) Croteau of Uxbridge.

Born and raised in Woonsocket, he was a son of Lucienne (Platiau) Croteau and the late Albert W. Croteau. He was a graduate of the Mount St. Charles Academy Class of 1965 and received his golden diploma this past May.

Mr. Croteau served with the Rhode Island Air National Guard from 1966 to 1968 and attained the rank of staff sergeant. He later went on to earn his degree from Johnson & Wales University, with a master's in accountancy.

Roger practiced as a certified public accountant for over 25 years, serving a variety of clients in the Greater Blackstone Valley area and beyond. He was a longtime member of the Massachusetts Society of Certified Public Accountants. Roger was an active member of the Douglas congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses.

Roger enjoyed dancing and walks on the beach, as he was a part-time resident of Florida. He had a special appreciation for a smorgasbord of comedy. Although quiet and reserved at first, once you got to know Roger his warm, friendly and loving manner became evident. He could find humor in any situation, and his lighthearted and easygoing personality was a true hallmark of his outlook on life.

Roger is survived by his wife, Janice; his mother, Lucienne; a son, Steven Croteau, and his wife, Nicole, of Uxbridge; and a daughter, Ellen, of Uxbridge. He was the stepfather of Ronald Barry, and his wife, Amy, of Connecticut; Darlene Jones, and her husband, Erskine, of Seekonk; and Sarah Barry, and her companion, Leroy, of North Carolina. He was the brother of Jeanne Benoit and her husband, Leo, of Florida, and Louise St. Jean, and her husband, Gary, of Smithfield; and two nephews of New York and Vermont. Roger's pride and joy was being pepere to his granddaughters, Belle and Elise Croteau, and that pride extended to his seven step-grandchildren. He is also survived by his aunts, Irene Mayer and Annette Beaulieu.

Visiting hours are Monday from 4 to 8 p.m. in the Menard-Lacouture Funeral Home, 127 Carrington Ave. Woonsocket. Burial will be private.

A memorial service is tentatively scheduled for Saturday, Dec. 5, at 2 p.m. at the Douglas Congregation of Jehovah Witnesses Kingdom Hall, 1054 Victory Hwy., North Smithfield. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the People First Food Pantry, 19 Douglas St., Uxbridge, MA 01569.
