Arla Lehr Ziegler

YORK Arla Lehr Ziegler, 90, died at 7:52 a.m. Wednesday, December 12, 2012, at Rest Haven-York. She was the wife of the late H. Kenneth Ziegler, to whom she was married for 45 years. Born August 15, 1922, in York, a daughter of the late John A. and Gertrude M. (Lauer) Lehr, she was a 1940 graduate of William Penn Senior High School, where she also served as treasurer of her class reunion committee. A licensed insurance agent and a certified professional insurance woman, she was employed by LaMotte and Bond, J. Harold Trattner and Collens-Wagner Insurance Agency, prior to her employment with Chinault Insurance Agency, from which she retired in 1992. She was an active member of Union Evangelical Lutheran Church. Mrs. Ziegler is survived by a son, John K. Ziegler of York; a daughter, Gretchen K. Myers and her husband, Carey of York; and two grandchildren, Jason Boone and Chelsey Myers. She was preceded in death by her sister, Lenore Richwine and her husband, J. Robert; and her twin sister, Betty L. Bowers and her husband, Glenn. Funeral services will be private with her Pastor, The Rev. Judith A. Mckee, officiating. Burial will be in Prospect Hill Cemetery. Kuhner Associates Funeral Directors, Inc., 863 S. George St., York (the former Hahn Home), is in charge of arrangements.
