Carolyn M. Glatfelter

Glatfelter YORK Carolyn M. Glatfelter, 90, entered into heaven Monday, January 21, 2013, from her home, surrounded by her family. She was the wife of the late Ernest G. Glatfelter, whom she was married to for 64 years. Born in York on February 22, 1922, Carolyn was the daughter of the late Gorman J. and Clara E. (Darone) Christine. Carolyn graduated from York High School and was an M 1943 graduate of York Hospital School of Nursing, graduating as an RN. She was a member of Yorkshire U.M.C., York Hospital Nursing Alumni Association and worked for the VNA of York after her schooling. Prior to working 14 years at Gregory's Men Store, Carolyn devoted her time to raising their two daughters. She then retired in 1983. The Celebration of Life Service will begin at 1 p.m. Friday at Yorkshire U.M.C., 125 Edgewood Rd., York, with her pastor, the Rev. Dennis A. Hummel officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Burial will be in Mt. Rose Cemetery immediately following ceremony. Mrs. Glatfelter is survived by two daughters, Susan C. Forney and husband David, Kay C. Stock and husband Dennis, four grandchildren, Trisha Seitz and husband Mitchell, Megan Fry and husband James, Kobie Shaffer, and Brady Stock and wife Jennifer. Carolyn was blessed with seven great-grandchildren, Logan, Leah and Macy Seitz, Ryan and Justin Fry, and Lance and Brooklyn Shaffer. She has one sister, Ethel Isenberg and many neices and nephews. In addition to her husband, Carolyn was preceeded in death by a daughter, Jane and a brother Gorman Christine. Carolyn's life centered around her family. She was involved in all aspects of their lives and thoroughly enjoyed babysitting the children and attending their extracurricular activities. She was a wonderful mother and grandmother. Carolyn lived in Susquehanna Village where she enjoyed bingo and lunches with her girlfriends. She will be greatly missed by all who loved her. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to Heartland Hospice, 3417-C Concord Rd. York, PA 17402; or Yorkshire United Methodist Church, 125 Edgewood Rd. York, PA 17402. The John W.
