Dale L. Rohrbaugh Jr.

SPRING GROVE Dale L. Rohrbaugh, Jr., 66, passed away suddenly at 8:19 a.m. Thursday, December 19, 2013, at York Hospital. He was the loving husband of Roberta E. (Shenberger) Rohrbaugh, Together they shared over 47 years of marriage. Dale was born in Hanover, on June 11, 1947, and was the son of Dale L. Rohrbaugh, Sr. and the late Maybelle (Murphy) Rohrbaugh. He graduated from Spring Grove High School class of 1965. He worked for P.H. Glatfelter in Spring Grove as a technician for over 38 years prior to retiring. During retirement he worked for the Spring Grove School District as a game manager. He was a longtime member of Mt. Zion United Church of Christ in Spring Grove. He was a member of the Quarter Century Club at P.H. Glatfelter, the Viking Club in York, the Republican Club in York, and the Spring Grove Historical and Preservation Society. He loved sports and enjoyed playing basketball at Windy Hill Senior Center. He was an avid hunter and enjoyed fishing. He was a New York Yankees fan and cherished attending the sporting events of his grandchildren. In addition to his wife, Roberta, he is survived by his son, Dale A. Rohrbaugh and his wife, Rossi of Spring Grove, and Ryan E. Rohrbaugh and his wife, Ashley of York; his daughter, Monica Eckenrode of Spring Grove; and his grandchildren, Alex, Allen, Andrew, Zachery, Madison, and Avery. He is also survived by his father, Dale L. Rohrbaugh, Sr.; his sisters, Susanne Kline of Thomasville and Diane Klunk of Spring Grove; and his nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his mother, Maybelle Rohrbaugh, on July 24, 2013. Following cremation, a memorial service in celebration of his life will be held on Monday at 7 p.m. at Irwin-Beck Funeral Home & Cremation Service PC, 175 N. Main St., Spring Grove, with Pastor Kevin Becker officiating. The family will receive friends on Monday from 5 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
