Maurice S. Orwick

DOVER Maurice S. "Moe" Orwick, 81, passed away Sunday, November 25, 2012, at the home of his companion, Barbara Hartlaub of Hanover. He was the husband of Betty J. (Parsley) Orwick, who died on September 9, 2002. Mr. Orwick was born in York County, on May 27, 1931, son of the late Edwin W. and Maude (Shaffer) Orwick. He served his country honorably in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. He retired from the former Yorktowne Paper Co. Maurice attended St. David's United Church of Christ, Hanover. In addition to his companion, he is survived by five nieces and nephews, Calvin Orwick, Jr. and his wife, Wendy, David Orwick, and Dorinda Grove and her husband, Keith, all of New Freedom, Betti Saubel and her husband, Gregory of Glen Rock, and Marie Orwick of Harrisburg; six great-nieces and nephews, Michelle Harvey and her husband, Randall, David Orwick, II, Andrew Grove, Bobby Stiffler, Kelsi Saubel, and Adam Saubel; one great-great-nephew, Michael Shaeffer; and a sister, Dorothy Orwick of Dallastown. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Paul Orwick and Calvin Orwick, Sr. A memorial service will be held 10 a.m. Monday, December 3, 2012, at the LeRoy R. Leber Funeral Home, Inc., 2290 School St., York (Shiloh). Officiating will be the Rev. Scott Sager from St. David's United Church of Christ. Final resting place will be in Suburban Memorial Gardens, Dover. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the VNA of Hanover, 440 N. Madison St., Hanover, PA 17331; or to St. David's United Church of Christ, 142 Hobart Road, Hanover, PA 17331.
