Reita J. Langer

YORK Reita J. Langer died at 3:36 a.m. Friday, January 4, 2013, at home surrounded by her loving family. She was the wife of D. Morton Langer, MD, who died November 4, 2006. Born January 14, 1928, in York, a daughter of the late Max and Gertrude (Luria) Kitt, she attended the University of Pittsburgh. She was a stay at home mother, but had also owned a gift shop in York for a number of years. She also assisted her husband in his medical practice. She was a member of Temple Beth Israel and its Sisterhood. Mrs. Langer is survived by a son, Larry B. Langer and his wife, Hope of Westport, Conn.; two granddaughters, Alana Racioppa and Rachael Langer; a sister, Sondra Geller and her husband, Alan of Chevy Chase, Md.; and a number of beloved nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews - three generations of loving, devoted family members. She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Cindy Langer Durney, and a brother, Richard Luria Kitt. Funeral services are scheduled for 1:30 p.m. Monday, January 7, 2013, at Temple Beth Israel, 2090 Hollywood Drive, York, with Rabbi Jeffrey Astrachan officiating. Burial will be in Prospect Hill Cemetery. Kuhner Associates Funeral Directors, Inc., 863 S. George St., York (the former Hahn Home), is in charge of arrangements. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the , 924-N Colonial Ave., York, PA 17403; or to Save The Children, 54 Wilton Road, Westport CT 06880.
