Stehpen P. Elko

YORK Stephen P. Elko, 61, died Thursday, February 21, 2013, at his home. He was the husband of Elizabeth Mae (Lahr) Elko for 35 years. A viewing will be 9 to 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Mary's Church, 309 S. George St. A Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 10 a.m. at the church with Rev. Jonathan P. Sawicki as celebrant. Burial will be in Dallastown Union Cemetery. The John W. Keffer Funeral Homes and Crematory, Inc., 902 Mt. Rose Ave., is assisting the family. Mr. Elko was born June 26, 1951, in Wilkinsburg, a son of the late Joseph and Veronica (Rohulich) Elko. He was employed at Priority Solutions. He had been in retail management and was a manager of the Hills York store. He was a member of St. Mary's Church, the American Legion Sons of American Legion post 799, the West York VFW, and Hawk Gunning Club. Stephen is survived by his wife; two children, Nicholas D. Elko, and Christine M. Elko of York; and a brother, Joseph N. Elko of Humbolt, SD. Contributions may be made to the funeral home to defray expenses.
