Marietta - Alex Isai Sable, 37, passed away on Wednesday, May 9, 2018 surrounded by his loving family. He was a dedicated husband and father of three young children.

He was a loyal family man who served the community as a Police Officer and as a service member of the United States Marine Corps, as well as a member of the Harvest Community Church in Maytown, PA.

Alex was born in Hoboken, NJ on December 4, 1980 to Alix M. Sable and Arelis N. Sable. He accepted Jesus into his heart at a young age, a decision that greatly influenced his life.

Alex graduated from Hempfield High School in 1999 and joined the United States Marine Corps in 1998. He was a veteran of the Iraq War, completed two tours in Iraq, and served in the USMC as a Sergeant. He honorably served his country for 9 years. He worked for 12 years as manager at Serta Mattress in Lancaster. He later served four years with the York City Police Department as a Patrol Officer and a member of the Quick Response Team of York County.

Alex was married to Rebeca Sable on June 11, 2006. They were married for 12 years. They met in their youth 20 years ago and he was the love of her life.

Alex is survived by his wife, Rebeca Sable; and their three children, Ethan A. Sable (5), Annabel R. Sable (3) and Eliana A. Sable (9 months). He is also survived by his parents, Alix M. Sable and Arelis N. Sable; his younger brother, Andrew N. Sable, and his family, wife Dana Sable, with their children, Samara Sable (4) and Zyas Sable (9 months); his older sister, Priscila Sable-Cuthbertson and her family, husband, Darren Cuthbertson, and children, Giovanni Phillips (18), Julian Phillips (8), and Nadia Cuthbertson (6 months). He is additionally survived by his paternal grandparents, Emanuel Sable Green and Irene Estela Marte. He was also survived by aunts, uncles, and cousins who loved him deeply.

Alex, affectionately called "Isai" by his family, was a noble man of integrity and a friend to all. He maintained many lifelong friendships, making people laugh and smile with his witty sense of humor. He was kind, warm and loving. He enjoyed serving the church through worship by playing the saxophone. He enjoyed exercising, working on cars, watching movies he loved and spending time with his family. He will be greatly missed and the family is deeply saddened by his sudden, untimely departure and finds strength and comfort knowing they will meet again in heaven.

A public memorial service will be held at 12 noon Friday, May 18, 2018, at the Utz Arena of York Fairgrounds, with full military rites. Private burial will be in Prospect Hill Cemetery. Kuhner Associates Funeral Directors, Inc., 863 S. George St., York, is in charge of arrangements.
