Dover - Anna L. Fickes, 94, entered into rest at 3:28 a.m. on Wednesday, August 8, 2018 at Providence Place in Dover. She was the wife of the late Clair W. Fickes. They were married 67 years.

Born January 9, 1924 in Harrisonburg, she was a daughter of the late Earl F. and J. Luella (Emswiler) Brunk.

Anna was a homemaker who enjoyed playing cards and board games with her family and friends. She was an active, life member of Dover Bethany U.M. Church where she was a former Sunday school teacher and former choir member. She was also a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of Union Fire & Hose Co. #1, Dover where she was the treasurer for 20 years.

Anna is survived by a son, Wayne F. Fickes and wife, Carol of York; a daughter, Linda L. Conner of Santa Rosa, CA; four grandchildren; six great grandchildren; and a brother, Earl F. Brunk, Jr. of York. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a son, Donald Fickes; a granddaughter; and three brothers, Billy D. Brunk, Weldon Brunk and Durwood Brunk , who died in combat in Italy.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend Anna's funeral at 11 a.m. and the visitation from 10 to 11 a.m. on Monday, August 13, 2018 at Dover Bethany U.M. Church, 4510 Bull Rd., Dover. Burial will follow in Dover Bethany Cemetery. Officiating will be her pastor, the Rev. Salvatore Buonocore. Emig Funeral Home, Dover is serving her family.
