Betty J. Bievenour

Dover - Betty J. Bievenour, 96, entered into rest 3:47 a.m. on Sunday, May 13, 2018 at Colonial Manor Nursing Home. She was the wife of the late Paul E. Bievenour.

Born January 2, 1922 in West Manchester Township, Betty was the daughter of the late George A. and Elizabeth (Carter) Holtzapple and step-daughter of the late Anna (Heindel) Holtzapple.

She graduated from Dover High School in 1938 and worked at Nellies Restaurant in Dover for 15 years and Danskin in York for 20 years.

Betty was a member of Salem Lutheran Church in Dover, Union Fire & Hose Co. #1, Dover and the Ladies Auxiliary, Dover AARP #3875, and a life member of West Manchester Township VFW Post 7374 Ladies Auxiliary.

She is survived by her son, Dale E. Bievenour and wife, Joy of Dover; two grandsons, Matthew Bievenour and fiancé, Katherine Liefer of Steamboat Springs, CO and Douglas Bievenour and wife, Andrea of Dover; and a great-granddaughter, Piper. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her brother, Ray E. Holtzapple.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend Betty's funeral at 11 a.m. and the viewing from 10 to 11 a.m. on Thursday, May 17, 2018 at Emig Funeral Home, 47 N. Queen St., Dover. Burial will follow in Suburban Memorial Gardens. Officiating will be her pastor, the Rev. Amy Northridge.
