Chris Palmer
February 22, 1977 - March 9, 2018
Chris Palmer was an excellent balloonslinger, spreading joy to kids and families at numerous restaurants and parties for years in York County.
A graduate of Kennard-Dale High School in '95, Chris went on to earn an Associate's in Electronics at YTI and moved to Philly, however he found a 9 to 5 job stifling. He apprenticed under a balloon twister he met while working in restaurant management and found his passion. He returned to York after a back injury and attempted to expand his business by word of mouth and business cards. Chris strove to give the happiness he couldn't fathom to others, in the elaborate form of a shark hat or a monkey climbing a palm tree.
Always helpful with a smile, a good listener with a quick and sarcastic sense of humor, and an avid reader with an intensely creative and charming personality, Chris is survived by his grandmother, Clara Palmer of York; parents, Thomas Palmer and stepmother, Carol Palmer of Spry, mother, Cora Palmer and Richard Hess of Stewartstown; aunt, Charlotte Palmer of Big Pine Key, FL; uncle, David Palmer and aunt, Diane Shull of York; sister, Emily Warnick and her children, Isaac and Onna of York; as well as numerous aunts; uncles; and cousins spread throughout York County and the United States. He is preceded in death by his grandparents, L. Charles Palmer, Donald and Pauline Thomas, Marion Partin; and his mother, Rosemary Tetrault.
A memorial service will be held on March 18, at 2 p.m. at Eastside Church, 3430 Eastern Blvd York.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Not One More, P.O. Box 95, Dover, PA 17315 or by following the link

When jokingly asked to make something military Chris beautifully created...again. We have seen nothing but happiness and smiles he warmly created.

The world has lost a very kind and generous man who brought more joy to people than he ever knew.
He left us much too soon and will be sorely missed.

While my son was young, we would go to Bob Evans almost every Sunday morning for breakfast just to see Chris. At the time we did not know his name, but we affectionately called him "Balloon Man". We loved to watch him, amazed by his talents. And while he went from table to table making fantastic balloon creations, he always had a smile on his face - never showing the pain he may have been going through. I am saddened to learn of his passing. May you rest in peace Balloon Man!

As the days and weeks pass, and as you return to life's routine, may you continue to feel comforted by the love and support of family and friends.

My husband thought he had him stumped with this request, but there it is!
Last year, this man amazed us as he twisted balloons into amazing creatures! He made a Quetzalcoatl for us! We chatted & he told us how he left an unfulfilling career, and honed this skill that brought joy to so many! I had hoped we would see him again... but sadly he passed away several days ago. RIP Chris... condolences to his grieving family & friends. #NotOneMore
