I'd known of Clair for a few years before we met. We met when I took Black History at The High. He was, in essence, the co-teacher of the class.
Our relationship grew that year as he extended the classroom teachings and conversations to the Princess Street Center for those of us hungry for more.
His honesty about this life experiences, tenderness and breath of knowledge were a lighthouse for me.
Today, with the learning of his passing, I put more oil in the lamp of his character within my heart to carry his legacy.
