YORK Donna M. Markle, 65, passed away unexpectedly at Memorial Hospital on Wednesday afternoon, February 22, 2012. Donna was born on May 27, 1946, in Derby, Conn., to the late Robert and Helen (Ragozzine) Heusser. Donna graduated from Bishop Garcia Diego High School in Santa Barbara, Calif. She had many fond memories from her time in California. Upon graduation, Donna attended York College for two years. She worked in real estate for 25 years. Donna was a real estate agent for Prudential Bob Yost Homesale Services in York. Donna was a most loving and caring mother, and grandmother. She is remembered by family and friends as having the kindest heart, always seeing the best in people. One of her greatest joys was decorating and giving gifts at Christmastime. Donna most loved being with her family - the fuller the house and the louder the laughs, the better. Donna called everyone she loved "honey". Donna is survived by her children, son, Gary Markle and his wife, Jennifer of Baltimore, Md., son, Matt Markle and his wife, Lexi of Bonita Springs, Fla., and daughter, Michelle (Markle) Rentzel and her husband, Scott of York; her children's father, Gary Markle and his wife, Maureen of York; brother, Bob Heusser and his wife, Karen of Hummelstown; her brother, Dave Heusser and his wife, Mary Ann of York; her nephew, Rob Heusser of York; her nephew, Steven Heusser of York; niece, Danielle Heusser of Bedford, N.Y.; her beloved grandsons, Max and Brooks of Baltimore, Md.; and many dear friends. To celebrate Donna's exceptional life, a service will be held on Monday, February 27, 2012. A visitation is scheduled for 9 to 11 a.m. at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, 2935 Kingston Road, York. A funeral mass will be held following the visitation at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Louis Petruha as celebrant. Burial will be at Holy Savior Cemetery. John W. Keffer Funeral Homes and Crematory, Inc., 902 Mt. Rose Ave., York, is in charge of arrangements. I met Donna at an open house and she immediately won the hearts of my husband and myself. We were very young and looking for our first house. Donna took us under her wing and made the process a wonderful memory. My sincere sympathy to her family, of whom she spoke constantly. She was so proud of her children and loved them deeply. R.I.P. Donna.

I am shocked and deeply saddened by this tragic news. I only recently began corresponding with Donna via FaceBook. We had not seen or talked to one another since High School in Santa Barbara. My most sincere prayers go out to all her family and friends at this difficult time of loss. May God bless you all and give you His Peace. ~Paula (Byron) Driscoll

Gary, Matt and Michelle,
Although we don't know eah other, I was your Mother's Maid of Honor and, at one time we were very close. Time and distance separated us over the years, but she was always in my heart and now my heart aches for all of you who were able to be close to her all of this time. I hope she was happy, I know she was well loved.
With deep regret, Judy Sutliffe

I met Donna about 10 years ago when I started at Prudential which at the time was Coldwell Banker, right from the start she was so sweet. I worked for Mercury which is now Homesale Settlement and they started telling me the stories about when Donna worked at Mercury. Some of those stories are so funny! Donna left Coldwell Banker but always kept in touch. She could call you and you would think that it was like yesterday that you talked with her. Then when Long and Foster joined with Prudential she came back home..I said it is about time you come back here...she laughed that lovely laugh that she had. I will always remember Donna's sweetness, kindness and that great laugh of hers.
The day after Donna passed it was such a beautiful day outside (for February) and there was a group of us standing in the lobby talking about Donna, shedding some tears, stories etc and I told them all that it was so beautiful outside because that was Donna's smile shining down on all of us and saying "I am ok everyone, please remember the good times, wipe those tears away, I am happy!" Donna Thank you for just being you!
To Donna's family, I will keep you in my prayers as I understand how hard it is to lose someone so suddenly. Over time those tears will turn into smiles as I know you all have lots and lots of Happy times with her!
