Edward Ezra Bubb

Excelsior, MN - Edward Ezra Bubb, Excelsior, MN, was called home by the Lord on January 7, 2021. He was born November 29, 1923, in Dover, PA, son of Edward Bubb Sr and Claire Alice (Stough) Bubb. He was preceded in death by his wife Phyllis (Ericson) Bubb in 1999, brothers Raymond Bubb and Clermont Bubb and sisters Margaret Sunday, Arlene Whitmore, Mildred Gross, and Geraldine Bubb.

Ed Bubb is survived by three children and their spouses, Sheila (Doug) Grow of Minneapolis, Steven Bubb (Nancy) of Excelsior, and Dr. Michael Bubb (Teresa) of Gainesville, FL. He also is survived by seven grandchildren and three great grandchildren and by his brother Floyd Bubb (Faye) of York, PA.

Ed Bubb spent 37 years managing grocery stores for Red Owl (Sioux Falls, SD), Spies Super Value (Brookings and Watertown, SD), and Randall Foods (Mitchell, SD) during which he also was a board member and vice-president for 31 Randall Food stores. After retirement, he and his wife enjoyed traveling in their motor home, dancing, tennis, golf, playing cards, gardening (raising bountiful crops of tomatoes and strawberries), playing with their grandkids and great grandkids, and worship before settling in the Twin Cities for more than 20 years.

He served in the Army Air Corps in England with the 458th Bombarbment Group from April 1943 until Oct 1945.

Donations preferred to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital Memphis, TN, or the Union Gospel Mission of Sioux Falls, SD. A grave-side memorial service will be held in Alcester, SD, in the spring.
