YORK Esther P. (Patterson) Orpin, 97, died Thursday, July 25, 2013, in Manor Care Health Services North. She was the wife of the late Charles A. Orpin. A Celebration of Life Service will be 7 p.m. Monday, August 5, 2013, at Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Rd, York. A visitation will be held from 6 to 7 p.m. Monday, at the funeral chapel. Burial will be held in Arlington National Cemetery at a later date. Born October 1, 1915, in Philadelphia, she was a daughter of the late James and Mary E. (Wolf) Patterson. She was employed in the accounts payable department at Teledyne-McKay for 20 years. A United States Navy Veteran of World War II, she was also a member of the Blue Mountain Waves-Unit 12, Waves National, 260th Artillery Association, Shiloh American Legion, Post 791, Colonial York Knitters Guild, Episcopal Church of St. John the Baptist and Dover AARP, Chapter 3875. Mrs. Orpin is survived by one son, James C. Orpin and companion, Michele Walsh; three grandchildren, Farrah S. Davenport and husband, Troy, John C. Orpin and wife, Aja and David C. Orpin and wife, Rene; four grandchildren, Ella M. and Anna R. Davenport and Eric L. and Brady P. Orpin; two sisters, Elsie Taylor and Edith Morris. She was preceded in death by one brother, John L. Please know that our thoughts, prayers and love go out to all of Nan's family and friends. She was the "classiest" and sweetest lady. I saw how much she loved her family and everyone that met her. She touched me very deeply and will be forever in my heart.

Jim and family. So sorry to hear about Nan. She was a wonderful woman and I am truly blessed to have known her. Her Lord and Savior has called her to her Heavenly home and she has answered that call. She is watching over you as she has always done. God bless all of you.
