In addition to his wife, he is survived by a sister, Delores Warner and her husband, H. Wayne, of Estero, FL; a niece, Lisa Bacon and her husband, Robert of Ashburn, VA; and their children, George and Emily: a cousin, Doris Hewitt of St. George, UT; and her children, Larry and Lois and her husband, Jim Doll.

A 1945 graduate of Eastern High School in Washington, D.C., he was employed by the Military Sealift Command, Department of the Navy in Washington, D.C. as a Visual Information Officer. He retired in 1979 as head of its Graphics Design Department.

After retirement he volunteered at Prince George's County SPCA in MD, and also served as a Board member at Emmanuel United Methodist Church in Scaggsville, MD. He was a member of the Loyal Order of the Moose, and was a lifetime member of the Mt. Hermon Masonic Lodge in Hyattsville, MD.

He and Jeanne loved to travel, enjoying the wonders of our beautiful country, as well as visits to Europe and cruises in the Caribbean. They loved spending winters in Melbourne Beach, FL as well as yearly visits to Cape Cod, MD, where they had honeymooned.

He was an avid golfer, and his vegetable and flower gardens were a top priority. George loved spending time with the families of both he and his wife, and also considered his friends as family and enjoyed his time with everyone. His sense of humor, with a joke at the ready, saw him through the ups and downs of life. He loved to make people laugh.

He will be deeply missed by his friends, family and all who knew him.
