York - Jack Lee Frey, 87, born on January 21, 1931 in York, died peacefully at his home on Saturday, June 9, 2018 after a lengthy illness and will be dearly missed by his loving wife of 59 years, Ruth P. (Erney) Frey. He was the son of the late I. LeRoy Frey and Elizabeth "Betty" (Crouse) Frey.

Jack was an active member of Asbury United Methodist Church in York. In addition to his wife, Jack is survived by two children, Beth, wife of George Quickel of Ephrata, and Ellen, wife of Fred Frey of Mechanicsburg; grandchildren, Roy Quickel, husband of Danielle of Montgomery, MI Casey Quickel of Lexington, KY and Mason Quickel of Philadelphia; and a brother, David L Frey, husband of Charmayne of Melbourne, FL; and step grandchildren, Frederick R DeSantis, husband of Melly and Danielle L Sanchez, wife of Jose, both of York.

Jack was a proud, Willian Penn York High 49'er. In his youth and young adult life, Jack was a member of York's Playland roller skating rink, competing in many dance competitions throughout the East Coast. Throughout life, Jack enjoyed vacationing with his wife and family, especially in Wildwood, NJ and Myrtle Beach, SC, locally attending many concerts and community events. He was a member of the Antique Car Club of America, attending many activities in his 1967 Camaro or 1956 Oldsmobile Rocket. Jack retired from Eckert Trucking Company in 2010. Jack also worked at Yorktown Kitchens from 1965-1974 as the payroll manager, and started his career at York Bank in 1950.

Services will be held on Thursday, June 14, 2018 at Asbury United Methodist Church, 340 E Market St, York, with a viewing and family visitation from 9 to 11 a.m., followed by the funeral at 11 a.m. with burial at Mount Rose Cemetery immediately following.

The family would like to express their gratitude to Lori and her care team and also the Hospice of Central PA.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Jack's name to Asbury United Methodist Church, 340 E. Market Street, York, PA 17403 or Hospice of Central PA, 1320 Linglestown Road, Harrisburg, PA, 17110.
