Joni L. Kubiak Obituary
Joni L. Kubiak

Dover, PA - Joni L. Kubiak, 61, of Dover, PA, formerly of Erie, passed away at Hanover Hall in Hanover, PA on September 10, 2018 following a courageous fourteen year battle with a brain tumor.

Joni was born on December 12, 1956 in Corry, PA, the daughter of Holland (Sonny) Morgan and Joan Morgan. Upon graduating from Corry Area High School in 1974, Joni attended Robert Morris University, where she obtained a business degree. She went on to a career in purchasing at Associated Spring in Corry. After she married Dennis Kubiak on September 27, 1980, she continued her career for several more years until she went on to her true passion, to be the greatest wife and mother to her children. Since diagnosed with a meningioma, an aggressive brain tumor, in June 2004, Joni endured numerous surgeries and recoveries with courage and grace, and was an inspiration to all who knew her.

Joni enjoyed living life simply and always remained humble. Family and friends meant more to her than any material possessions. She loved to garden, golf, and spend time with her children. Her Christian faith carried with her during many life challenges, and she always kept a cheerful outlook.

Joni was preceded in death by her mother, Joan Morgan, on May 1, 1986, her brother Rick (Jon) Morgan on September 19, 2015, and her beloved Golden Retriever, Casey, who was by her side through much of her struggle. She is survived by her father, Holland Morgan; her husband of 38 years, Dennis Kubiak; her son, Daniel Kubiak, and his wife Olya, of Chicago, IL, her daughter, Katherine Kubiak of Denver, CO; her sister, Valerie (Carl) Anderson of Erie, and her brother Ronald Morgan of New Jersey, and many nieces and nephews who loved her dearly.

The family would like to thank the following organizations: The UPMC Presbyterian Neurosurgery Department; Golden Visions Adult Day Services, and Hanover Hall, both in Hanover PA. Their care and compassion extended Joni's life and allowed her to experience her children grow into adulthood and spend time with her family, which she treasured most.

Friends are invited to call on Sunday from 3 until the time of a service at 7pm at the Brugger Funeral Homes & Crematory, 1595 West 38th Street at Greengarden Blvd.

In lieu of flowers, the family would request donations to Golden Visions Adult Day Services, 250 Fame Avenue, Suite 125, Hanover, PA 17331 (www.goldenvisionspa.com) or UPMC Family House, 5001 Baum Blvd., Suite 545, Pittsburgh, PA 15213 (www.familyhouse.org/support).
