Miriam V. Emig Obituary
DALLASTOWN Miriam V. (Schaeffer) Emig, 91, formerly of Spry, died at 12:08 p.m. Friday, June 1, 2012, at the residence of her son, Kenneth Seiple, Sr. in Lakewood, Calif. She was the wife of Harold G. "Butz" Emig, who died on January 17, 2004. Viewing will be from 10 to 11 a.m. on Saturday, June 9, at Workinger-Semmel F.H. & Crematorium, Inc., 849 E. Market St., York. The service will follow at 11 a.m. at the funeral home with her pastor, the Rev. Robert S. Edmundson, officiating. Burial will follow in Susquehanna Memorial Gardens. Mrs. Emig was born June 16, 1920, in York, and was the daughter of the late Luther G., Sr. and Beulah M. (Shorb) Schaeffer. She was retired after 35 years as a seamstress with both Triumph Hosiery and Danskin Inc., a member of New Harmony Presbyterian Church in Brogue and its Women's Circle, the Leisure Group from Old Calvary, and the AARP. Mrs. Emig is survived by two daughters, Dollie E. Smith of York and Judith A. Smith of Manchester; three sons, Thomas H. Emig of Oakton, Va., Kenneth W. Seiple, Sr. of Lakewood, Calif., and Ammon R. "Ranny" Seiple, Jr. of Sarepta, La.; nine grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Gloria Focht of York. She was preceded in death by three sisters, Dollie Miller, June Railey, and Helen Free; and a brother, Luther G.
