Robert L. Heffler

Stewartstown - Robert L. Heffler., 74, passed away Monday, May 14, 2018 at Wellspan York Hospital. He was the husband of Joyce Virginia (Manning) Heffler with whom he shared 49 years together. Born in Baltimore, MD, he was a son of the late Joseph and Ardith D. (McHenry) Heffler.

Robert worked for Northrop Grumman formerly, Westinghouse, for 44 years as a materials planner. He was a United States Army Veteran; and a member of Chanceford Presbyterian Church for 25 years.

He enjoyed caring for his yard, raking leaves and mowing grass; hunting, fishing, and crabbing. He also shared a passion for playing cards with his friends for over 30 years. He loved spending time with his wife gardening, traveling, and being home with their family.

In addition to his wife Joyce, he is survived by his four children, Lora Heffler, Robert Heffler, Jr., Gina Sue Heffler Swartz and her husband, Willy, and Michelle Lynn Heffler Clark and her husband, Bill; daughter- in- law, Michele Heffler - Novak and her husband, Sonny; grandchildren, Jeremy and his wife, Katie and their soon to be son, Colton, expected to arrive in June, Ben, Taylor, Holly and Jordan; siblings, Ronald Heffler, Jeff Heffler, Debbie Dunphy; many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Joseph Heffler, Jr.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, May 17, 2018 at 1 p.m. at Chanceford Presbyterian Church, 1748 Woodbine Rd., Airville, PA 17302 with Rev. Beth Appel officiating. There will be a visitation one hour before the service. Interment will follow at Chanceford Presbyterian Cemetery, Airville with Military Honors provided by the York County Veterans Honor Guard.
