Bonnie L. Goodling
Bonnie Lou (Mitchell) Goodling, 73, passed away unexpectedly, Thursday, September 29, 2016, at York Hospital. She was the loving and devoted wife of Carroll E. "Goody" Goodling, with whom she celebrated their 42nd wedding anniversary in January.
Mrs. Goodling was born in Robertsdale, Pennsylvania, January 6, 1943, daughter of the late Edward Mitchell and Eunice D. (Carrie) Peffer.
She was a graduate of Spring Grove High School.
Bonnie was the founder of "Mom's Pets" in Huntingdon, Pennsylvania. She was employed as a beautician at Paul of 5th Avenue, West York, a receptionist at Martin Foot and Ankle Podiatry, Shiloh, Executive Director for 16 years for Heritage Senior Center, and her and her husband operated an UTZ potato chips stand for a number of years in Eastern Market, York.
She was a member of St. David's EC Church and Ladies Guild, as well as Shiloh American Legion Post 791 Auxiliary. She enjoyed cooking/baking, traveling to the mountains and the beach.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by three sons, Rick S. Yohe of Hanover, Terry E. Goodling of Md., and Steve A. Goodling of York; six grandchildren, Collin, Garrett, Amy, Amanda, Morgan, and Karly; five great-grandchildren, Evan, Jyllian, Katlyn, Cayden, and Harper Rae; and a brother, Billy Peffer of Robertsdale. She was preceded in death by a son, Evan A. Yohe; a brother, Edgar R. Mitchell; a sister, Ruth Hake; and stepfather, William E. Peffer.
Funeral service will be 11:30 a.m., Tuesday, October 4, 2016, at St. David's EC Church, 2411 Oakland Rd., Dover. Officiating will be her pastor, the Rev. N. Patrick Teaford. There will be a visitation from 10-11:30 a.m. at the church prior to the service. Burial will be private.
