Marian H. Mattingly
Marian Hope (Brenizer) Mattingly, 86, ascended into Heaven on Wednesday, November 9, 2016 from the Lifecare Hospital of Mechanicsburg. She was the beloved wife of the late Nelson G. "Sam" Mattingly.
Mrs. Mattingly was born on September 9, 1930 in Orrtanna, daughter of the late Ralph E. and Martha E. (Ball) Brenizer.
Hope was a graduate of Gettysburg High School, Class of 1948. Hope was employed by the former York Bank & Trust, from which she retired in 1986, after 15 years of service.
She was a faithful member of Shiloh United Church of Christ, where she participated as an usher, greeter, Book Study Group, and the Widows Group. She was member of the Shiloh Lioness Club.
She was the loving mother of two daughters, Lori S. Weniger and her husband, John of Garnet Valley, and Dana L. Gaetjen and her husband, J.R. of York; devoted grandmother to Chad Weniger, Amy Jones, Gabe and Grace Gladfelter, and Andrew and Emma Gaetjen; and several nieces and nephews. She was a caring and compassionate aunt, friend, and neighbor. In addition to her husband, she is preceded in death by two siblings, Alice and Dutch; a son in law, Gene Gladfelter; and a grand son in law, Jason Jones.
Funeral service will be held 11 a,m., Tuesday, November 15, 2016, at Shiloh United Church of Christ, 2251 Willow Rd., York. Officiating will be the Rev. Susan D'heedene. Final resting place will be in Suburban Memorial Gardens, Dover. There will be a viewing from 9:30 to 11 a.m. prior to the service, at the church.
At the family's request, memorial contributions may be made to Shiloh United Church of Christ Memorial Fund, 2251 Willow Rd., York, PA 17408.
