Romaine (Beck) Bechtel, 94, passed away Friday, August 11, 2017 at Manor Care North. She was the wife of Franklin G. Bechtel who died July 11, 1995.
Mrs. Bechtel was born in Dover on June 17, 1923, daughter of the late Penrose and Minnie (Fetrow) Beck.
She was employed as a packer for LG Potato Chips from which she retired.
Romaine was a member of St. David's Evangelical Congregational Church in Dover. She enjoyed spending time with her family, cooking, gardening and traveling.
Survivors include, a daughter, Connie R. Eberly of York; two grandchildren, Dana L. Stuart and her husband, Jim of Manchester and Darryl L. Eberly and his wife, Valerie of East York; four great-grandchildren, Daniel Hineline, Laura Beam and her husband, Philip, Ashleigh Bailey and her husband, Jeffery and Joshuah Eberly and his wife, Hope; three great-great-granddaughters, Paige Bailey, Juliet Bailey and Lily Beam; three step great-grandchildren, Erin, Tanner and Adam Day; and a half sister, Florence Tome of Mt. Wolf. She was preceded in death by several brothers and sisters.
Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, August 16, 2017 at St. David's E.C. Church, 2411 Oakland Rd., Dover. Officiating will be her pastor, the Rev. N. Patrick Teaford. Final resting place will beside her husband in Suburban Memorial Gardens, Dover. There will be a visitation 10 to 11 a.m. prior to the service at the church.
At the request of the family, memorial contributions may be made to St. David's Evangelical Congregational Church, 2411 Oakland Rd., Dover, PA 17315.
