Teresa Dietz Obituary
Teresa M. Dietz
March 11, 1964 - September 8, 2017
York
Teresa Marie Dietz, 53, daughter of Lynn and Irene Dietz of York and Madeline and Richard Crowl of The Villages, FL, passed away September 8, 2017, with her family by her side after a brief but courageous battle with cancer. Teresa was born March 11, 1964 in York. She was a carefree soul who lived for listening to her music, especially Donny Osmond. She had a savant-like recollection of music and knew the inside scoop on all her favorite stars. She enjoyed watching her soaps and amassed an impressive collection of DVDs of television shows and movies. Teresa was a graduate of Northeastern High School and employee of the Shadowfax Corporation for 31 years. She participated in the Special Olympics of York County for over three decades, representing York several times at the State Track and Field games. She made many friends along the way, always wearing a smile and making others laugh with her hands-on-her-hips and piercing-evil-eye stance. She was especially proud to share stories about her nephew, Josh, even when she wanted to "bop" him. Teresa cared very much for her family. Her different ability had no bearing on her capacity for love and kindness.
"T" leaves to cherish her memory her parents; her paternal grandmother, Virginia Dietz; her three sisters, Nancy Dietz, Allison Dietz, and Katherine Guyer; her nephew, Joshua Guyer (Alexis); a great-niece, Kamdyn, all of York; and a host of aunts, uncles, and cousins whose lives she touched.
The family would like to thank Dr. Mark Miller and Dr. Eav Lim and their staff, as well as that of all those caregivers from Hospice and Community Care, for their responsive and compassionate care.
A viewing will be held Tuesday, September 12, 2017 from 6– 8 p.m., at the LeRoy R. Leber Funeral Home, Inc., 2290 School Street, York. Friends and family are welcome to pay their respects at that time. All other services will be private at the convenience of the family.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that you make a donation in Teresa's memory to the Special Olympics of York County or Hospice and Community Care. They also ask that you take the pledge to "Spread the Word to End the Word," http://www.r-word.org, to honor the incredibly giving and loving individual Teresa was.
