York, Pennsylvania - Geraldine B. (Walker) Ruth, 87, passed away Sunday, September 9, 2018, at her residence. She was the wife of the late James E. Ruth, Sr.

Mrs. Ruth was born in Randallstown, MD, August 10, 1931, daughter of the late Arthur Walker and Mildred (Holebrook) Walker Claggett.

Geraldine retired from the former York Dress Co. after 42 years, 19 of those as a supervisor. She was a member of Shiloh United Church of Christ, York.

She is survived by three children, Karen S. Chavez and her husband, John of York, Debra K. Roberson of Hallam, and James E. Ruth, Jr. and his wife, Mary of Manchester; three grandchildren, Joseph J. and Stephen J. Chavez, and Amanda M. Gregory; and one great grandchild. She was preceded in death by a son, Terry Ruth and son-in-law, James Roberson.

The funeral service will be 12 Noon, Friday, September 14, 2018 at the LeRoy R. Leber Funeral Home, Inc., 2290 School St., York (Shiloh). Officiating will be her Interim Pastor, Michael Beynon. Viewings will be Thursday, September 13 from 6-8 p.m. and Friday, September 14 from 11 a.m. to 12 Noon, both from the funeral home. Final resting place will be in Mt. Rose Cemetery, York.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that the memorial contributions should be made to Shiloh United Church of Christ, 2251 Willow Rd., York, PA 17408.
