Margaret Faye Grove

York - Margaret Faye (Shank) Grove, 92, passed at her residence on Sunday, September 30, 2018. She was the wife of Theodore D. Grove, who passed away March 27, 2011 after 64 years of marriage.

After graduating from Hershey High School, Class of 1944, she worked in the office of the Hershey Chocolate Corp. until her marriage to "Lefty" in 1946. They moved to York in November of 1947 and she worked for the former G.C. Murphy Co. and J.B. Fishel's Bakery for a short while before being employed by the former York Bank and Trust from which she retired in 1988.

She was a member of Shiloh United Church of Christ, York and a former member of the Adult Sunday School Class. Margaret was a volunteer at the York Daily Bread Soup Kitchen for many years.

Survivors include, a son, David W. Grove of Spring Grove; six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and a sister, Janice Ruddle of Hummelstown. She was preceded in death by two sisters, E. Lillian Fausnacht and Betty Beitzel.

A Memorial Service will be held 11 a.m. Friday, October 5, 2018 at Shiloh United Church of Christ, 2251 Willow Rd., York. Officiating will be her Interim Pastor, Michael Beynon. Final resting place will be in Shiloh Cemetery. There will be a visitation from 10 to 11 a.m. prior to the service at the church.

I am so sorry for your loss. I wish I would have had more time to get to know your mom. But what I do know is she and your dad raised a caring, honest, sensitive, loving and loyal man. She will be missed. And I look forward to hearing about your memories with your parents.
