Jacobus, PA - Sandra J. "Sandy" (Lehr) Jenkins, 68, passed away Tuesday, November 20, 2018 at her residence. She was the loving wife of Ronald Jenkins, Jacobus.

Mrs. Jenkins was born in Munich, Germany, daughter of the late Wade Jr. and Kathleen (Palmer) Lehr.

Sandra graduated from William Penn High School, Class of 1968. She then went to nursing school, becoming an LPN working at the Lutheran Home, York and later at Memorial Hospital after having her second child.

She was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis in 1976 and then worked at the Lutheran Home in Shrewsbury. Sandy later attended York College and earned an associate degree and a bachelor's degree. She was then employed by the Community Progress Council as a Case Manager until becoming disabled by the M.S. progression.

Sandy had a love for bookstores. She enjoyed the many trips to Walt Disney World, Florida and other locations she was able to make with her husband.

Survivors include two sons, Chad Garner and Brenden Garner, both of York; sister-in-law, Martha Jenkins of Virginia; two stepsons, Adam Jenkins of Marietta and Christopher Jenkins of Dallastown and six grandchildren, Hannah, Brianna, Katelyn May, Adrian and Paige Garner, and Ellie Capriglione. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a stepson, Nathan Jenkins.

Memorial Service will be held, 1:00 p.m. Saturday, December 1, 2018 at the LeRoy R. Leber Funeral Home, Inc., 2290 School St., York (Shiloh). Officiating will be Pastor Tyler Miller. A visitation will be Noon to 1 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will be private.
