Dear Julie and family,

I was so saddened to hear of Doug's passing. I grew up across the street from him (on Hill Street)and we played for countless hours together. Douggie, as my sister and I called him, was so much fun to play with...always smiling and laughing. My favorite story with him is the time he got a pea stuck in his nose. We were misbehaving and shooting peas at each other through straws and someone's aim was evidently pretty good!(No one still to this day will claim responsibility for it!) We laughed about that for years. Please extend my sympathies to Doug's parents. I have fond memories of them as well.

Sincerely,

Beth

To the Deardorff family: I'm sorry that you lost such a great person in your life, and at such a young age. I knew Doug in high school, and he was one of the best persons I knew. I never saw Doug without a smile, and he always knew how to give a smile to others. My condolences and prayers come your way.

Dear Julie,

May God Bless and give you and your children strength at this time. I was only around Doug on a few occasions but knew that he was one of a kind! My heart goes out to you in your journey to raise your children without Doug at your side.

I pray for the best for you and your children.
