Louise R. Kroft Obituary
DOVER Louise R. Kroft, 85, entered into rest at 8:45 a.m. on Thursday, June 13, 2013, at Normandie Ridge. She was the loving wife of Carl E. Kroft. The couple celebrated 66 years of marriage on June 22, 2012. Born March 8, 1928, in West York, she was a daughter of the late Curvin A. and Ida K. (Kling) Sheffer. Louise attended Dover High School. She was a homemaker. Louise was a member of New Bethel U.M. Church in Lewisberry, where she was a former Sunday School teacher. She was a member of Union Fire & Hose Co. #1, Dover, and a former member of the Ladies Auxiliary. Louise volunteered her time with the Dover Area Food Bank. She was also a former member of Mount Royal Farm Women Group #27 and a former 4-H Leader. In addition to her husband, Louise is survived by four children, Jack M. Kroft, Sr. and wife, Kathy of York, John E. Kroft and wife, Vickie of Wellsville, Gerry K. Kohler and husband, Karl, Sr., and Carl E. Kroft and wife, Elaine, all of Dover; nine grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; 11 step great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and two brothers, Donald Sheffer of New Kensington and Dale Sheffer. She was preceded in death by three sisters, Norma Quickel, Patricia Crowell, and Doris Sherman. Following cremation, relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend Louise's memorial service at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, June 18, 2013, at New Bethel U.M. Church, 1485 Kunkle's Mill Road, Lewisberry. There will be visitations from 6 to 8 p.m. on Monday at Emig Funeral Home, 47 N. Queen St., Dover, and from 10 to 11 a.m. on Tuesday at the church. Burial will be at the convenience of the family in Suburban Memorial Gardens. Officiating will be the Rev. Salvatore Buonocore, pastor of Dover Bethany U.M. Church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Dover Area Food Bank, 1832 Industrial Court, Dover, PA 17315; or New Bethel U.M. Church, 1485 Kunkle's Mill Road, Lewisberry, PA 17339.
