Margaret M. Lowe
Margaret Mary (Helfrich) Lowe, 97, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on January 31, 2016, at Manor Care North.
Margaret was born March 8, 1918, in Dallastown and was the wife of James Lincoln Lowe, with whom she celebrated 76 years of marriage on September 16, 2015. She was the daughter of the late John and Ada Roland Helfrich. Margaret attended White Rose Senior Center and worked with her husband for 10 years at St. Joseph Church and 5 years at Rest Haven. Margaret was a faithful member of St. Patrick Church in York.
Margaret and James have 11 children, Sister Angela (Mary) Lowe OSF of Aston, Elizabeth (Bea) Enterline of York, Margaret (George) Nace of Jefferson, Cecilia (William) Riner of Sartell, MN, Robert (Kris) Lowe of Annapolis, MD, David (Kay) Lowe of Charlotte, NC, John Lowe of Denver, PA, Stephen Lowe of York, Patricia Lowe, deceased, Phillip Lowe, deceased, and Michael Lowe, deceased. The couple has 14 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren. Margaret is survived by her brothers, James Helfrich, Girard Helfrich, Charles Helfrich, Richard Helfrich, Francis Helfrich; and a sister, Theresa Smith. She was preceded in death by brothers, Roman Helfrich, John Helfrich, Joseph Helfrich, Paul Helfrich; and sisters, Rosalie Helfrich and Sister Ada Helfrich MSBT.
A viewing will be held from 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday, February 6, 2016 at St. Patrick Church followed by a Mass of Christian Burial with the burial at Holy Saviour Cemetery on Susquehanna Trail.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Margaret may be made to St. Patrick Church, 219 S. Beaver St., York, PA 17401; or the Forsight and Vision, 1380 Spahn Ave., York, PA 17403.
